This is my first sentence of my first blog entry, concerning my views about the life in the fire services. My second sentence is to apologize ahead of time for any and all run on sentences and misspellings. Great, now onto why I have started blogging about life in the fire services. First is to have a place for me to remember certain events that I have witnessed and my thoughts at that particular time. Second, is to have a chance to maybe educate the public about what firefighters do and how they perceive events that they have experienced. Third, hopefully is to pass on stories to other firefighters who can relate to this crazy profession and maybe have a forum inwhich we can learn from others mistakes.

I will try to adhere to a format. Knowing myself, I can't promise daily blogs. I work two 24 hr shift every 8 days. I think blogs after my two 24hr tour would be more appropriate. I will try to touch on any major calls I have gone on, humorous antedotes about firefighter interaction, as well as complain about the myriad of problems associated with my department. Thats it for now, my next entry will be a super short synopsis of calls that stick out in my mind to date in my short career. Be safe, and have a quite one. The opining fireman.
